Anthropology Major

Students must declare a major in Anthropology through the Academic Advising Center. To be admitted as a major, you must have a 2.0 overall GPA. Please review the departmental requirements for graduation. You should consult with an academic advisor in the Academic Advising Center for general education requirements.

The requirements for the major consist of a minimum of 34 hours in anthropology.

The following classes are required of all majors:

  • ANT 2410 Cultural Anthropology (3 hours)
  • ANT 2140 Introduction to World Archaeology (3 hours)
  • ANT 3620 Language and Culture (3 hours)
  • ANT 3514C Biological Anthropology (4 hours)
