ANG 6930 Human Embryology

Dr. DeLeon

Embryology is essential to understanding the evolutionary and ontogenetic origins of biological variation.  This course assumes a basic understanding of adult human anatomy as the framework for exploring the developmental origins of all systems of the vertebrate body. Weekly lectures provide an overview of each system and introduce new concepts and terminology.  Students take turns presenting weekly readings that provide an evolutionary, comparative anatomical, or clinical context for each topic.  Discussion is strongly encouraged, and student interests will drive the direction of our discussion.
