Center for Latin American Studies Director Search

Dr. Jan French is the first candidate for the position of Director of the Center for Latin American Studies to visit campus for two days of on-campus meetings. Dr. French will be visiting us next week, Wed April 3-Thurs April 4, and presenting on her scholarly work and research on Wednesday, April 3, 3:15-4:30 PM, in 219 Dauer Hall. This presentation is open to the public.

Melvin Ember Internship at HRAF

HRAF’s one-year internship in Melvin Ember’s name is open for applicants until April 5th! The intent of the internship is to learn about cross-cultural research through practical experience. Some of the main tasks will be: 1) helping Carol Ember prepare modules summarizing cross-cultural research; 2) reading and analyzing recent cross-cultural research to summarize materials for the Explaining Human Culture database; and 3) participating in an on-going cross-cultural research project.
