Friday Scrapbook October 5, 2018

Today, October 5, is National Get Funky Day! National Get Funky Day was started in St Augustine, following Hurricane Matthew in 2016, and it has been observed annually since October 5, 2017.   How does one observe National Get Funky Day?  “Get funky by wearing the brightest clothes, dance to happy music, smile, laugh, let your hair down, high five and hug people. Have a party, help a neighbor, be positive and have fun! Whatever you do, step out of your normal and Get Funky! The goal is to generate as much positivity as possible, that the day will go down as the funkiest in History.”  You may also use #NationalGetFunkyDay to share your experiences on social media!  Probably unrelated: today also happens to be National Rhode Island Day.

Potlatch Tidbits

We’re a week and day from Potlatch.  As a reminder, if you have legacy items for the auction, you may drop them off in our main office in Turlington.  Also, if you have an item you’d like to donate, you may also bring that to the main office in Turlington, preferably with a note about what it is and what it might be used for.

We are also happy to take donations to the  Graduate Student Travel Fund, our graduate students would very much appreciate it!  You may write a check, payable to the Graduate Student Travel Fund, sent directly to Karen Jones in our main office.
