The Department of Anthropology is pleased to announce that Dr. Chris McCarty will be serving as the next chair of our department beginning August 16th, 2016, with a term extending three years until August 2019.
Dr. McCarty has an extensive background in cultural anthropology, collaborative research, and administrative processes through his various appointments on and off campus. Among these appointments, Dr. McCarty has served as an NSF Program Officer and is currently the Director of the Bureau of Economic and Business Research.
In welcoming Dr. McCarty to his new position, the Department also thanks Dr. Susan deFrance for her service and commitment to UF Anthropology throughout her term as Chair.
