Cultural Anthropology

Christopher McCarty is a Professor of Anthropology specializing in social network analysis, survey research and topical areas such as migration and disaster research. Most of his work is focused on personal network analysis which uses the compositional and structural characteristics of the people surrounding an ego to predict things about them. McCarty is the director of the UF Bureau of Economic and Business Research, an applied research center doing survey, demographic and economic research.
