Dr. Aaron Broadwell’s collaborative project ‘Ticha’ wins award for best digital humanities blog in 2020

Ticha, a digital text explorer for Colonial Valley Zapotec, won an award for best digital humanities blog in 2020.  Dr. George Aaron Broadwell is one of the founders of Ticha, which is a collaborative project between linguists, historians, and Zapotec people to make historical texts in indigenous languages accessible to communities. Ph.D. Student Isis Dwyer awarded Ford Foundation Fellowship

Ph.D. Student Isis Dwyer was awarded a Ford Foundation Fellowship to support her studies of cranial variation, forensic ancestry estimation, & self identity in the Afro-Caribbean. Ford Fellowship Awards provide three years of support and are made to individuals who have demonstrated superior academic achievement, are committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level, show promise of future achievement as scholars and teachers, and are well prepared to use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.
