Fall 2026: Forensic Anthropology Skill-Sharpening Workshop

The C.A. Pound Human Identification Laboratory is offering two hands-on workshops this August for students, law enforcement professionals, and anyone looking to sharpen their forensic anthropology skills.

Forensic Field Techniques runs August 10–14, 2026, and covers forensic search and recovery methods, analog forensic mapping, forensic photography and documentation, evidence collection, basic human osteology, and intake of forensic remains.

ID & Forensic Analysis of Human Skeletal Remains runs August 17–21, 2026, and focuses on selected aspects of the biological profile — including age, sex, and stature — individualizing traits, and human vs. non-human identification.

Both workshops run from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily and cost $750 per participant. Enrollment is limited, and participants may register for one or both sessions. Courses are designed for individuals over 18, with a particular focus on students, law enforcement, and the science-curious.

Workshops are led by Phoebe R. Stubblefield, PhD, Director and Research Assistant Scientist at the C.A. Pound Human Identification Laboratory, Department of Anthropology.
