Open Forum on New Combination Degree (BA/BS and MA) in Anthropology with Certificates

Wednesday, November 16, 3:00-4:30 PM, Turlington 1208A

The Department of Anthropology is launching a new combination degree that will enable eligible UF undergraduate students with junior or senior standing to earn up to 12 credit hours of graduate education and then—upon acceptance into the graduate program—complete requirements for an MA in Anthropology over the ensuing post-graduate year. This new terminal MA program is built around a series of graduate certificates, starting with Public Archaeology in Fall 2023. Plans are underway to add additional certificates in Indigenous Archaeology, Biocultural Heritage, Heritage Ethnography, Collections and Curation, and other specializations. Students in the terminal MA program may earn credits for paid internships in their final year, ideally with future employers in government agencies, private firms, or tribal historical preservation offices.

Come learn about this exciting new option for rewarding careers in Anthropology with an MA degree. Department faculty and advisors will be on hand to review your options and provide advice on pathways forward.
