Dr. Anthony Oliver-Smith became the second UF-Anthro faculty member to receive the prestigious Malinowski Award from the Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA). The award was presented to Oliver-Smith at the annual SfAA meetings held in Denver between March 19 and 23, 2013. He followed in the footsteps of one of his own mentors, Dr. Paul Doughty who received the award in 2005.
As described on the SfAA website, the Malinowski Award is “presented each year to an outstanding senior scholar who is recognized for a lifetime commitment to the application of the social sciences to contemporary issues.”
