Congratulations to our Fall 2022 Graduates

We are pleased to recognize an outstanding group of students, all of whom had degrees conferred on December 16th, 2022:

Terry Barbour’s dissertation is titled “The View Source Side Shell Bead Production along Florida’s Gulf Coast.”

Randee Fladeboe was awarded the doctorate for her dissertation, “Reconstructing the Lives of Macaws in the Prehistoric Southwestern United States and Northern Mexico.”

Amanda Hall’s thesis is titled “Lamar Clay Balls, Communities of Practice, and Colonialism in the Southeastern United States.”

Douglas Monroe earned the Ph.D. for his thesis, “Food Deserts, Food Insecurity, and the Community Food Movement.”

Edward Quinn’s thesis is titled “A Biocultural Approach to Understanding the Impacts of Psychosocial Stress.”

Benjamin Smith was awarded his doctorate for his dissertation “Hunter-Gatherer Stone Economies and Technological Landscapes in the Late Pleistocene Horn of Africa: Perspectives from the Baantu Obsidian Source and Mochena Borago Rockshelter.”

Hannah Toombs’ dissertation is titled, “(Re)Crafting Indigenous Identity and Tradition: Evaluating Uncertainty, Change, and Adaptation to Socioeconomic Development among Lenca Craft Producers in Western Honduras.”

We also have two students who have completed their M.A. in Anthropology:  Autumn Rose and Edward Sey-Taylor.
