Do you want to incorporate more interactive learning in your teaching? Are you looking for a way to “flip” your classroom? Dr. Marit Ostebo (Department of Anthropology) will conduct a Team-Based-Learning (TBL) workshop for faculty members interested in increasing student participation in the classroom. TBL provides educators with a comprehensive framework to facilitate participatory learning in both small and large classrooms. It consists of a specific sequence of individual work, team work and immediate feedback that promotes student accountability and enhances student engagement. Time in the classroom is focused on higher order critical thinking and application of theoretical knowledge to specific problems. TBL is a well-researched educational strategy that can be adapted to any discipline. This workshop will be conducted in a TBL format and is an introduction to the basic principles of TBL.
