Introducing Emic Magazine!

Emic Magazine was founded by a handful of passionate students, eager to convey the human experience by posing the question: “what makes us human?” Through months of hard work, dedication, and passion, the founding members were able to put together a student run project that will exist for many issues to come.

The first issue of Emic Magazine is now available! Emic is a magazine run out of UF’s Anthropology Department, founded and operated by students from both in and outside of the department. Emic is a mixed-media magazine focused on bolstering the original and academic works of undergraduates through a digital platform. You can expect to see a wide array of material and formats in our ‘zine; this may include anything from critiques and op-eds, to fine arts and everything in between. Emic Magazine self-identifies as “a UF-based anthro-zine centered around culture, biology, history, and society; everything that makes us human.” You can view the website at https://www.emicmagazine.com/ , with additional links to our social medias on our Linktree at https://linktr.ee/emicmagazine.

Check out Emic’s first issue, ‘Origins’ on the website, and keep your eyes open for information regarding submissions for Issue 2!
